Lake Eildon - April 2015

On Tuesday afternoon the 31st of March, 2015, we headed up to the Delatite Arm of Lake Eildon. We set up camp at Kirby's for the second year running, at the western end this time and tried to keep a site free for Warren and Stephanie and their friends Rick and Jo who were due to arrive on Thursday.

We spent the days kayaking, cutting up firewood, riding bikes and walking. There was a visit to Mansfield one afternoon, a drive deeper into the arm and we also did some fishing without any luck. Koby was his usual freaky self, digging craters when the chainsaw was running and hiding in the car whenever we would permit it.

The nights were spent relaxing by the fire with a cold beer in hand and roasting marshmallows.

We left after 4 nights on Easter Saturday to pick up Alyssa who was returning from China, leaving Warren, Stephanie, Rick and Jo up there. When we got home Warren sent a message to say that the Lexus had thrown a leg out of bed and they were trying to make arrangements to get home with the assistance of the RACV. You reckon he would know a good mechanic.

Tocumwal - January 2015

On Friday the 16th of January, 2015 we headed up to Tocumwal to camp on the Murray River for the first time. We elected to stay at Town Beach and hoped it wouldn't be too busy in the lead up to the Australia Day weekend. Warren headed up a few hours before us with the kids, leaving Steph at home to make some money and picked a great spot up the back against the fence.

We spent 5 nights there soaking up the sun, fishing, kayaking, swimming, walking, running, riding and enjoying a beverage or two.

It was a great spot to camp, costing us $10 a night. There are flush toilets and cold showers and the camping area is managed by a fellow camper. It is very close to town and there are good walking tracks and bike trails nearby.
