9th August, 2014

Today was all about beautiful views of the Cockburn Ranges. We packed up at El Questro, filled up with fuel at $2.30 per litre and headed off for Home Valley Station which is only 60 k or so from El Questro. Before long we crossed the Pentecost River which was probably 350 mm deep at its deepest point. I dropped Clare and the kids on the other side and did the obligatory photo run, only problem was Clare on the camera and Alyssa on the iPhone both stood front on to the car and didn't get any of the camper included in the shots.

Before long we arrived at Home Valley Station and set up in the main camping area. There are bush sites right on the banks of the Pentecost River but we decided we needed to give Trent some time on the playground and near the swimming poolroom mix with other kids. Yes it does give us a bit of respite as well.

We did some washing, had a swim and baked some bread (none for sale here) before heading down to check out the bush camping area, what a view they have at sunset. There were a few rather large salties sunning themselves on the far bank of the river.

Then we drove up to the sunset viewing point for the Cockburn Ranges and took some photos before going back to camp for dinner and a pint of 50 lashes up at the Dusty Bar.
